Our Mission Statement
The mission of Florida Yorkie Rescue is to rescue Yorkies, Yorkie mixes and other small breeds regardless of age or additional handicaps that may be associated with aging or birth defects. We never discriminate on the basis of health, age or breed.
We pledge to promote responsible pet ownership through humane education and to provide shelter and care to our foster dogs until a loving, responsible home can be found. To evaluate each dog and potential home with the goal of matching our dogs to the best possible home. We also provide life-long, quality sanctuary for yorkies that may be too old or ill for adoption.
This organization is made up entirely of people who volunteer their time and money to foster and place these little dogs in caring, loving homes. Almost all the dogs that come into Florida Yorkie Rescue need rehabilitation and training and we seek out medical care or alternative methods if traditional treatments do not work. All dogs that come into Florida Yorkie Rescue will be neutered or spayed and vaccinated.

In Memory Of Fritz, Gracie & Jessie
Fritz passed on May 27, 2008, Jessie passed on December 22, 2008 and Gracie just passed on June 18,2009 (pictured in the middle above) . The passing of these three precious and much loved family members washed us both with the grief and feelings of profound loss that only a fellow animal lover can understand.

Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort my beloved companions across the Rainbow Bridge. Assign them to a place of honor, for they has been faithful servants and have always done their best to please us. Grant us the strength not to dwell on our loss. Help us remember the details of their lives with the love they have shown us. And grant us the courage to honor them by sharing those memories with others. Let them remember us as well and let them know that we will always love them. And when it's our time to pass over into your paradise, please allow them to accompany those who will bring us home. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of their companionship and for the time we've had together. And thank you, Lord for granting us the strength to accept their passing, knowing they are finally at rest and in peace. Amen.
