April 5, 2013 - P.J. was neutered today and received a mandatory dental cleaning to clean up his gum infection. He had many teeth removed due to neglect but has some back molars left. He has gained almost one pound since his arrival and loves his canned food. He is now on heart medicine due to a significant heart murmur and has responded to them extremely well. He now has a lot of energy and is keeping up with the younger dogs here at FYR. He is very affectionate and full of kisses. He has cataracts but has very good sight in one eye. He is almost deaf. In spite of his challenges he has become a favorite and we just adore P.J. We feel with proper care he could live quite a few more years. Can you open your heart and home for P.J.? May 23, 2013 - P.J. has gained two whole pounds in just 8 weeks and he is doing great. He is ready to be adopted. Could that be by YOU?
May 31, 2013 - P.J. continues to do so well. But his monthly prescriptions can add up. If you could make a donation towards his monthly heart medication, we would be very appreciative!

March 28, 2013 - Moe is one of our volutneers and she recently went to Animal Control in her area in regards to another dog. when she arrived that dog had an adotpion pending. As she was leaving she scanned one pen after another. She eventually saw a very tiny white Maltese hiding in the very back and so she requested that the staff bring him closer. When Moe had the first opportunity to pick him it was obvious he was just skin and bones. His teeth was rotten and he was in pain. She could not leave him there. Because he was barely 3 lbs. the staff did not neuter him or give him the much needed dental cleaning. Moe brought him home th every next day and on Friday evening he arrived to us. Thank you to Moe and Colleen for transporting him so quickly. Please see his video for his story so far. More updates coming soon.
