11/22/2015 - Baxter was surrendered to an Animal Shelter and was adopted but soon afterwards he was returned. Then he was adopted again by a loving couple who did not know Baxter had a Liver Shunt. When it was discovered he would require life saving surgery costing almost $3,000 they contacted us to take him as they did not have the funds for the surgery. So now Baxter is in Foster Care with Florida Yorkie Rescue and will be meeting our surgeons the week after Thanksgiving. He also has Luxating Patellas which will be assessed by our surgeon to see if he is a candidate for surgical repair. No doubt he will be with us for a while as these surgeries are serious and require a long time to recuperate. More details coming soon. God bless all those who wish to donate toward his surgery.

12-30-2015 - After multiple blood tests and an ultrasound, our specialists have concluded that Baxter does NOT have a Liver Shunt. We could not be happier about the news. But he will still require orthopedic surgery on both back legs... scehduled for January.

1/20/2016 - Baxter had surgery today on one leg for his luxating patellas. He will recover for the next 8 weeks and then his remaining knee will be repaired.
